Charities

Traidcraft – we are a Fair Trade church.  We strongly support the Oxford Diocese’s push towards Fair Trade, and we buy fairly traded goods whenever possible.  We have a Traidcraft Sunday on the fourth Sunday of every month, with a large stall, over coffee and biscuits (both fairly traded.)  Also please visit our Traidcraft rep’s website to order goods.

Slough Refugee Centre – our Harvest Festival is centred around this organisation, who are the recipient of our offered canned and dried goods.  Around Christmas time, we also hold a Toy Service, where the toys offered by our children are given to those who otherwise would not have a present at all.

Our financial support for our missions is generated by fundraising events, most popular of which are the annual Pancake Cafe held on Shrove Tuesday, and a programme of Lenten Lunches.

Papua New Guinea – John and Maila Davis are helping with the translation of the Kobon New Testament.  They are also producing some reading books in the Kobon and Haruai languages.

We also support two families working on social, medical and community projects in association with the local church in a part of the world unfriendly to foreign missionary work.

We tithe to these charities, and respond to any specific appeal, for instance disaster relief.
